A kind-hearted and thoughtful educator…
Kayuri Naito was born and raised in Japan and began taking piano lessons at the age of 7. Though she enjoyed playing classical music, she paused her piano studies in middle school to focus on her academic pursuits. While studying architecture at university, Kayuri developed an interest in singing and decided to pursue music in Los Angeles. After enrolling at the Musicians Institute, she was inspired by a variety of genres, particularly R&B, Blues, and Pop. She graduated with a degree in Vocal Performance, where she also learned songwriting and music business. Post-graduation, Kayuri began teaching piano, music theory, and vocals to students. In 2021, she discovered a deep passion for Jazz and has been studying it ever since. Currently, she teaches at Tustin Music Center, offers private lessons, and works with other music schools. Additionally, she plays the piano at her church.
“I think music in itself is healing. It’s an explosive expression of humanity. It’s something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we’re from, everyone loves music.”
-Billy Joel
